Sean Miller and the Arizona Wildcats have added their first player to the 2013 class, receiving a commitment from 6'5 shooting guard Elliott Pitts. He is ranked as a four-star player by Scout, although he is not in their top-100 rankings. ESPN has him as the 88th best player in the class.

Pitts, who is from the Bay Area, committed to UA over California, Georgetown, Washington, Virginia and many others. He recently visited Tucson on an unofficial visit to check out the campus and facilities, and all reports indicated he came away very impressed.

Here is some video of Arizona's newest recruit.

He will join what is quickly becoming a crowded backcourt in Tucson. With Nick Johnson, Gabe York, Jordin Mayes and T.J. McConnell all expected to see plenty of playing time in 2013, Pitts will have to come in and compete immediately.

This being said, Pitts has a lot of potential and could become a solid scorer at the college level. He is not an elite recruit, but could have a long, successful career at Arizona if he puts the work in. His commitment will be the first of three or four that UA will accept in the coming months.
