London Olympics Daily Recap: Matt Grevers And Nick Thoman The Arizona Medalists

The big highlight of the 2012 London Olympics for Arizona has to be Matt Grevers winning his gold medal in the 100 meter backstroke and Nick Thoman coming right behind him to win silver. Grevers and Thoman finished first and second, and provided Arizona with a local sweep of one of the biggest events.

Other highlights include Rebecca Soni failing to capture gold in the 100 meter breaststroke after 15 year old Ruta Meilutyte of Lithuania finished in first. Local Arizona swimmer Breeja Larson finished sixth in the event. Missy Franklin managed to win 100 meter backstroke gold for the United States just under half an hour after completing the 200 meter freestyle. Ryan Lochte was shut out of the medal stand on the 200 men's free after Yannick Agnel swam his second straight get swim in a row in the London pool.
