Jim Furyk was the best local performer in the Arizona region at the 2012 British Open after just performing steady every round. Furyk didn't do a lot to put himself in contention at any point this weekend, but he still managed to finish +4 and earn a tie for 34th. For his overall performance, Furyk got a decent amount of the purse by earning $41,949 overall. Martin Laird finished in a tie for 72nd, earningarned $17,909.
For winning the Open, Ernie Els earned just over $1.45 million, and Adam Scott managed nearly $839,000 (although he has to be disappointed at not earning the overall prize).
Arizona golfers didn't fare too well overall. Phil Mickelson missed the cut and thus earned nothing from this week's action. Chez Reavie, Martin Kaymer, Tom Lehman and Scott Pinckney also earned no money as none of them made the cut.
