It appears the days of Phil Mickelson being a serious contender at majors may be over. Mickelson, an ASU graduate, has not played well in recent months and was terrible at the 2012 British Open, shooting a +11 through two rounds. He missed the cut of +3, and he ended Friday 21 strokes back of the leader, Brandt Snedeker (-10).
Tiger Woods continued to play well on Friday, shooting a 67 for the second consecutive day. He sits at six-under-par through 36 holes of play, good for third place. Adam Scott is in second place at -9 for The Open Championship, and he also shot a 67 this afternoon.
After a great first round, Rory McIlroy shot a +5 on Friday to move back to two-over-par for the tournament. Masters champion Bubba Watson also struggled on the day, shooting a 73 to bring him to par through 36 holes.
