British Open Odds: Phil Mickelson Overvalued At 80 To 1

The British Open championship odds have been updated after the first round results. Phil Mickelson slips but still manages to stick pretty well at 80 to 1 odds despite being +3. He is in deep danger of missing the cut though, so this doesn't seem like a real smart bet to make at this point.

If you really want to bet on a golfer with Arizona connections, Martin Laird might be a better bet at 100 to 1. Laird has the best chance of making the cut and also making a move on Friday at even par. Of course, Laird has also never made an Open cut in his four tries, so that might also temper your expectations. Jim Furyk also has 150 to 1 odds despite being a stroke better than Lefty at +2.

Martin Kaymer is deader than dead at +7 in a tie for third-to-last place. The 1000 to 1 odds are there for you if you're really up for it. No odds have been posted on Chez Reavie or even Scott Pinckney, who's performing the best of the bunch at -2.
