The Open Championship 2012, First Round Scores: Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy In The Hunt, Phil Mickelson Struggles

Adam Scott's 6-under 64 is yet to be touched at the 2012 Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St. Annes, though guys like Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy have positioned themselves well for the weekend.

Zach Johnson, Scotsman Paul Lawrie and German Nicolas Colsaerts all fired 5-under 65's to remain tied in second place Thursday, while Brandt Snedeker is the lone man at 4-under after a bogey-free 66. Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Bubba Watson, Graeme McDowell, Ernie Els, Steve Stricker, and two others fired opening round 67's to find themselves at 3-under par.

Some notable players struggled in round one. Sergio Garcia, who played with Woods on Thursday, fired a 2-over 72, while Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood carded rounds of 3-over 73.
