Belmont Stakes 2012: I'll Have Another, and Friends, Take a Day Off [VIDEO]

The Belmont Stakes just got a little less exciting today as it was revealed that Triple Crown contender I'll Have Another was scratched with a leg injury. This ended, in anti- climactic fashion, a chance to see the first horse achieve that feat in several decades, and naturally there was a little national sports-mourning to go along with that news. Sports fans weren't the only ones affected though - I'll Have Another, according to reports, was seen sulking in his paddock and in need of a friend. Or three.

After the jump, check out our look at the human side horse side of horse racing, as Belmont Stakes entrants Dullahan, Union Rags, and Paynter decide to cheer up the injured I'll Have Another by taking him out on the town for an unforgettable day in New York City.
