2012 College World Series: Arizona Wildcats Face St. John's In Super Regionals

The Arizona Wildcats will host yet another round of the 2012 College World Series this weekend in Tucson. After scoring 47 runs in their first three games of the tournament, UA will welcome in St. John's to Hi Corbett Field for Super Regionals. It will be a best-of-three series.

SJU won the North Carolina regional, defeating the No. 5 ranked Tar Heels (and others) to advance to this stage in the competition. They have a solid offense and strong pitching staff, although they will be battling one intense element this weekend they'll have no control over: heat.

All three games are scheduled during the middle of the day in Tucson. Temperatures are expected to be above 100 each day, which could be a big advantage for the Wildcats. The athletic department has strongly urged those attending the game to stay hydrated and to wear white to keep cool. Water will be provided for free to those who want it.

The first game of the series is Friday at noon in Tucson. ESPN2 will have the live telecast of the game.

The second game is set for Saturday at noon, and it will also be televised by ESPN2.

Sunday's game (if necessary) will be played at 1 p.m. ESPN2 will have it for you on the tube.

It'll be a hot weekend for Arizona baseball, but a very exciting one for a team that is absolutely loaded offensively. Kurt Heyer will make the start for UA in game one.
