On Sunday, the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rolled into Sonoma for the Toyota/Save Mart 350. The 12-turn course proved tricky for some of the top drivers on the Sprint Cup leaderboard, opening the way for an unexpected driver to grab the checkered flag.
Clint Bowyer picked up his sixth career win on Sunday, holding off Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch despite a green-white-checkered-flag finish that resulted in 112 laps rather than the intended 110.
Greg Biffle took seventh place to leapfrog Dale Earnhardt, Jr. in the overall standings. Biffle is just 11 points behind overall leader Matt Kenseth, who placed 13th on Sunday.
