The Arizona Diamondbacks continue their home stand this week against the Chicago Cubs in a three-game weekend series. Arizona (34-35) took two of three games from the Seattle Mariners, scoring an average of 10 runs a game. The struggling Chicago Cubs (24-45) are coming off their first series win of the month of June, winning two of three games against the White Sox this week.

This series is an opportunity for the D-backs to gain some ground in the NL West standings. Arizona is 7.5 games back behind the Dodgers, but the Dodgers face the Los Angeles Angels this weekend, who have won nine of their last 12 games — including a three-game series against the Dodgers last week.

Pitching Probables:

Friday, June 22, 9:40 p.m ET: Jeff Samardzija (5-5) vs. Joe Saunders (4-5)

Saturday, June 23, 10:10 p.m. ET: Paul Maholm (4-5) vs. Ian Kennedy (5-7)

Sunday, June 24, 4:10 p.m. ET: Wade Miley (8-3) vs. Matt Garza (3-5)
