2012 U.S. Open, Leaderboard Update: Phil Mickelson Struggling In Third Round

Phil Mickelson just barely made the cut at the 2012 U.S. Open on Friday, giving him a chance to make a big run on the final 36 holes towards the top of the leaderboard. Mickelson, who played his college golf at Arizona State University, has not played well in the early going of the third round. Through seven holes he's at one-over for the day, dropping to +8 overall for the tournament.

Mickelson bogeyed the second hole and sixth hole, both of which were par-fours. He did manage to birdie No. 4 on three shots. Lefty is now through seven holes on the day.

Two of the tournament leaders, Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk, will tee off at 6:05 p.m. ET this evening. That's 3:05 p.m. in Arizona. The other leader at -1 overall, David Toms, will start his day at 5:55 ET.
