College World Series Scores: UCLA Bruins Advance Over Stony Brook

The UCLA Bruins handled red-hot Stony Brook in the opening game of the College World Series by a score of 9-1 on Friday afternoon. The Bruins raced out to an early 5-0 lead and continued to add on throughout the game, which was plenty of support for starting pitcher Adam Plutko.

The Bruins advance to the winners portion of the bracket while Stony Brooks drops to the bottom half. The winner of tonight's game between Arizona and Florida St. will face UCLA on Sunday, with the loser facing Stony Brook in an elimination setting.

First pitch between UA and FSU is set for 6 p.m. MST tonight. It'll be Arizona's Kurt Heyer against FSU's Brandon Leibrandt on the mound.

Here is the complete bracket for the tournament.
