2012 US Open Golf: Tricky Course Plays Host To Grand Slam Event

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will be among those trying to pick up a big win in the second Grand Slam event of the year. The 2012 U.S. Open begins on Thursday.

The 2012 U.S. Open gets underway on Thursday at the Olympic Club in San Francisco. The notoriously tricky course has a tremendously tricky front nine and will likely not lend itself to a slew of low scores. Driving accuracy will be of utmost importance as the best golfers in the world go for the second Grand Slam title of the year.

The tournament has all the star power you would expect, including three-time U.S. Open winner and reigning champion Rory McIroy.

ESPN has the broadcast from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. PT. NBC takes over the television coverage from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. PT and ESPN will finish up the day from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. PT.
