2012 Olympics: James Harden Selected As Finalist For USA Basketball Team

James Harden is well on his way to becoming the greatest basketball player to come through Arizona State University. A top-three pick of the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2009, Harden has thrived in a sixth man role and features one of the sweetest strokes in the league from behind the arc.

Given his ability to score points in a hurry, play solid defense and be a leader both on and off the court, the decision to make him a finalist for the 2012 USA Basketball Team made a ton of sense.

Here is the news on Harden:

The 2012 Olympics will get underway in July, so the coaching staff will likely make a few final decisions on the roster in the coming weeks. In this last season with the Thunder, Harden averaged 16.8 points, 3.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds.

Will this former Sun Devil make the cut? He probably should. Now it's just a matter of who head coach Mike Krzyzewski feels would fit best onto his team. A gold medal is the only goal in London.
