2012 Preakness Field: Bodemeister Favored To Win After Being Narrowly Edged At Kentucky Derby

Bodemeister is considered the favorite in many books to end up winning the 2012 Preakness Stakes. He came very close to winning the 2012 Kentucky Derby. Bodemeister started Churchill Downs at an extremely fast pace and nearly held on before I'll Have Another ended up winning in the final few yards.

Bodemeister narrowly has the edge over I'll Have Another to win this race, which gives you an idea of how strongly people consider the horse's chances at winning this one. Bodemeister was trained by Bob Baffert (who was born in the state of Arizona), is considered an Empire Maker out of a Storm Cat mare, and has a career record of 5-2-3. Bodemeister's most notable victory is winning the Arkansas Derby along with his runner-up finishes at the Kentucky Derby and the San Felipe.
