NFL Mock Draft 2012: The Kansas City Chiefs Take Defensive Lineman At No. 11

With the 10th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State

The Kansas City Chiefs did a nice job addressing many of their needs through free agency. They locked up Dwayne Bowe, signed Peyton Hillis to compliment Jamal Charles, added Eric Winston at right tackle and Stanford Routt who will play opposite Brandon Flowers.

KC was quietly involved in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes. They know they need a quarterback, but with Luck, Griffin and Tannehill all selected any of the other QB would be a reach. I thought about going with Brandon Weeden and couldn't pull the trigger. It's not as crazy as you think, remember how Christian Ponder went much earlier than expected last season.

Since quarterback was ruled out, the next biggest Chiefs need is defensive tackle. The guy I'm going with Mississippi State product Fletcher Cox. He performed well at the combine and his production in school was better than Memphis DT Dontario Poe.

The Seattle Seahawks are now on the clock. Jose Romero will make the selection.
