The NFL is expected to announced the 2012 Preseason schedule on Wednesday, in an apparent attempt to grab another day's worth of headlines. There aren't a ton of details out there currently, but make sure to keep an eye out here at SB Nation Arizona for updates once the games are announced.
The preseason doesn't matter much in the big scheme of things, but is an excellent opportunity for lower-level and back-of-the-roster type players to prove their worth. Some players solidify their spots on the 53-man rosters with outstanding play in the preseason, and some ultimately lose their spots with poor play. With fans sure to be football-starved by the time preseason rolls around, the games should be at least a little exciting.
The best news for Arizona fans? They get an additional preseason game this year, as the Cardinals take place in the Hall of Fame game on August 5th in Canton, Ohio, against the Saints.
