The Arizona State baseball team looks to rebound this weekend as they travel to Pullman, Wash, to take on the Washington State Cougars. ASU got swept by Stanford last weekend to fall to 9-9 in the Pac-12. ASU is currently ranked No. 23 in the Baseball America rankings.
Brady Rodgers will look to rebound from a rough start last weekend against the Cardinal. Last Friday, Rodgers gave up six earned runs, allowing 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings. Rodgers ERA raised from 1.12 to 1.75 as a result of the outing. Sophomore Trevor Williams was also subpar in his outing last weekend. Williams pitched six innings, allowing seven earned runs and 11 hits.
Hitting was not the problem for ASU in Palo Alto, as the Sun Devils scored 17 runs over the three game series. James McDonald fell a home run short of the cycle on Sunday, and Andrew Aplin went 3-4 in the series finale.
As of April 25th, ASU leads the Pac-12 in home runs (29), triples (16) and total bases total bases (592). ASU ranks second in the Pac-12 in hits (396) and slugging percentage (.434).
