NFL Mock Draft 2012: New York Giants Pick Up Protection For Eli Manning

With the final pick of the first round in the 2012 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select Bobby Massie, OT, Ole Miss.

While not typically mentioned with the other tackles of the first round, Massie is what the Giants need. They have their franchise QB in Eli Manning. They want to keep him that way and on the field. While there is still a very talented pass rusher in Whitney Mercilus on the board, we all know that the Giants have many pass rushers and Mercilus would not get as much time on the field and they would like. So instead, they go with a team need. Massie has recently been projected to go higher, so this is still a good value pick for New York.
