Roller Derby Tournament Comes To Arizona, Can We Play Too? [VIDEO]

Roller Derby looks easy enough. We found out it's not...the hard way.

A national roller derby tournament is coming to Arizona and we wanted to know what it was all about so we sent our young writer, Cody Ulm, to get up close and personal with the women of Arizona Derby Dames.

"It's hot chicks kicking each others' ass," explained Courtney Key aka Goody, Goody Blood Drop.

Cody found out the "ass kicking" extends to skinny boys as well.

"I came in with the expectation of setting the roller derby world on fire. I left with a with a few cracked ribs, a bruised ego and some minor internal bleeding," Ulm said. "Definitely not the child's play I thought it was going to be."

Watch.

We're confident the skaters at the upcoming tournament will give a bit more resistance than Cody provided.

The event will be held at Jobing.com Arena on April 6th and 7th and features the Arizona Derby Dames battling all-star teams from around the country. For more Information, visit: Prorollerderby.com

Special thanks to the Arizona Derby Dames for their participation and to Cody for sacrificing his body in the name of journalism (he was not faking those falls).
