NFL Mock Draft 2012: Cleveland Browns Continue Offensive Makeover With Playmaking WR

With the 22nd overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor

I was half tempted to select QB Brandon Weeden here as I am a big believer in his abilities but instead I have the Browns selected another offensive weapon to bolster Colt McCoy's supporting cast and give him one final chance.

Wright would be the perfect down field compliment to the more possession-oriented Greg Little. Sure, his 40 time of 4.61 at the combine may have put a damper on his reputation as a burner but I put more stock in game tape. Wright consistently showed that special ability to create separation on deep routes last season and has improved his numbers each year with his senior line of 108/1,663/14 being perhaps the best in Baylor history.

If McCoy can't produce quality results with Trent Richardson (my projected fourth overall choice), Wright, Little and Josh Cribbs, then he probably doesn't have a future in the NFL. But even if he fails, the Browns will still suddenly have a nice offensive core in place to support whatever QB they bring in to start the 2013 season.

The Detroit Lions are now on the clock. Jose Romero will make the pick.
