The Subway Fresh Fit 500 took place on Sunday at the Phoenix International Raceway in Arizona. The second race of the 2012 Sprint Cup Series was a closely-contested race, as would be expected. The final twist came in the final laps. Kevin Harvick, who led for nearly 90 of the 312 laps in the race, was chasing Denny Hamlin for the lead when he ran out of fuel with just two laps to go. Harvick managed to take second place, while Greg Biffle picked up third place for the second consecutive week.
Hamlin now stands in first place overall in the Sprint Cup rankings with 89 points, following his victory on Sunday and his fourth-place finish in the Daytona 500 last week. Biffle's back-to-back bronzes have him second in the standings with 83 points, while Harvick sits in third with 81.
