NBA Playoff Odds: Suns' Chances Don't Look Good

The Phoenix Suns have been playing much better basketball overall as of late and as of Monday morning were 12-15 on the season. That is good enough for 12th place right now in the Western Conference. That doesn't get them into the playoffs.

↵

In fact, according an ESPN NBA Playoff Odds, the season gets even worse.

↵

According to those projections, the Suns will finish only 27-39 on the season, 13th in the conference and with only a 4.2 percent chance of making the playoffs.

↵

That isn't even the saddest part. Because of their projected record, they will only have a 4.2 percent chance of the playoffs, meaning they will be in the draft lottery. What are the chances of their winning the top pick in the draft? The only have a three percent chance of getting the top pick.

↵

Naturally, that means basketball purgatory unless one player or coach can inspire a huge turnaround.

↵

Fans have been upset about the direction of the team, and many debate whether to fight for wins or trade Steve Nash and play a lineup that would win almost nothing.

↵

In any case, for the Suns to actually get into the playoffs, they have to win more.
