Arizona Cardinals could move training camp from Flagstaff to Glendale

After a quarter-century of hosting their training camp in Flagstaff, Ariz., the Arizona Cardinals are discussing the possibility of moving it to Glendale, Ariz., as early as the summer of 2013. According to ArizonaSports.com, the city has until Friday night to get the team a plan.

Whether the move ultimately gets made or not may depend on finances. The city of Glendale just recently approved $300 million in spending to help keep the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes in the city. Because of that decision, the city will need to cut almost $20 million and 200 jobs within the next five years.

However if the funds are approved, it is a logical move for an organization which has played home games in the city since University of Phoenix Stadium opened in 2006.

ArizonaSports.com also reported that if Glendale isn't approved as a new site, there is the possibility that the Cardinals could reach out to a number of other Valley cities about hosting their training camp. There is also the possibility that it would stay in Flagstaff, which has hosted Cardinals training camp since 1988.
