The Arizona Cardinals dropped an ugly 7-6 game to the New York Jets on Sunday, extending their losing streak to eight. For the sixth straight game, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb was held out with a rib inury.
Kolb injured his ribs against the Buffalo Bills on Oct. 14, and he's still experiencing pain that limits his throwing motion. John Skelton took over for Kolb, but after four ineffective starts that resulted in four losses, head coach Ken Whisenhunt tabbed rookie Ryan Lindley as the starter. Lindley has struggled so far, throwing five interceptions in two-plus games without once reaching the end zone.
Arizona was missing two other players against the Jets: wide receiver Andre Roberts and defensive end Calais Campbell. Roberts was sidelined with a hurt ankle, while Campbell was out with a calf injury.
Linebacker Paris Lenon left early in the game against New York with an injured shoulder, but he managed to return.
