When the season began, fans of the TCU Horned Frogs and Michigan St. Spartans likely didn't see their seasons ending up in Tempe, AZ at the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. But two disappointing seasons later, here are both teams, ready to square off in Saturday's game.
The early Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl odds listed TCU as a one-point favorite; most books have since bumped the Frogs to -2.5. The Horned Frogs finished the season 7-5, while the Spartans finished 6-6. Both teams started strong this season. The Horned Frogs started out 4-0 before losing starting quarterback Casey Pachall due to personal reasons. TCU then went on to lose five of its final eight games. Meanwhile, the Spartans began the season 3-1 before flopping in conference play, going 3-5 in the Big Ten.
The Buffalo Wild Wings (formerly Insight) Bowl is set for Saturday, Dec. 29 in Tempe. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. MT and can be seen on ESPN.
