Arizona Cardinals worked out Fozzy Whitaker

The former Texas star tried to land a job with the Cardinals this past week.

The Arizona Cardinals are looking for answers on offense right now. While a lot of team's problems have been put on the lack of consistent quarterback play, the running game has also really struggled in recent weeks.

With young tailback Ryan Williams on the Injured Reserve and Beanie Wells continuing to put together uninspired performances, one report indicated that the Cards worked out Fozzy Whitaker. Whitaker made a name for himself in college with the Texas Longhorns, although he's been unable to stick at the NFL level after not being drafted last spring.

Here is the latest from Aaron Wilson of Ravens Insider.

It is unclear just how much interest the Cardinals truly have in Whitaker, especially with the end of the regular season right around the corner. He could potentially be in the battle for carries next season, although he would have to leapfrog both Wells and Williams in order for that to happen. Given their injury concerns and a lack of production, though, there may just be a fit for Whitaker in Arizona should the coaching staff deem he's worthy of a roster spot.
