ASU Football: Taylor Kelly still unquestioned starting QB

Arizona State is sticking with Taylor Kelly through thick and thin in 2012.

The Arizona State Sun Devils aren't going to put Taylor Kelly on the bench after a bad game against the Oregon State Beavers last weekend. According to foxsports.com, Kelly will remain the starting quarterback as the sophomore tries to regain his form and confidence.

Per FOX Sports, Arizona State offensive coordinator Mike Norvell still believes that the youngster can get the job done for his team:

"Everybody gets knocked on their butt every once in a while. It's about how we respond, and he's come out and had a great week of practice."

Some of the fans and local media have been clamoring for a look at the redshirt freshman quarterback Michael Eubank. However, that hasn't materialized as Kelly is firmly entrenched for the present and forseeable future.

As for Kelly himself, he feels that he was trying a little too hard in the Oregon State game, leading to his turnovers and other errors, as he said to FOX Sports:

"I was pressing a little bit against Oregon State and feeling the rush with (defenders) getting through. I've just got to do a better job getting the ball out, staying in the pocket and trusting my guys."

Kelly has proven to be one of the better signal-callers in the Pac-12 though, showing he can make plays with a 65.5 completion percentage and 156.8 pass efficiency rating, putting him 19th in the nation.
