NFL picks against the spread: Andrew Luck over Blaine Gabbert is an easy choice

Another snoozer on Thursday night.

Gregory Shamus

Once again, on the Thursday night feature on NFL Network is not what you would expect to have. At least going into the season we know that this would not be too exciting. It is a divisional game, but it lacks much flair. Tonight it is between the Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the story is about the two young quarterbacks that lead their team. One was much maligned a year ago and has made some great strides this year (the Jags' Blaine Gabbert) and the other has been lighting things up (the Colts' Andrew Luck).

The Colts head into Jacksonville as road favorites, with the line at -4 for them. Luck is coming off of a record-setting performance, throwing for 433 yards, most of which were on deep balls.

While the trend for the Thursday night game has been to favor the home team, you have to look at the Jags as hopeless. They look terrible defensively and are 0-4 at home on the season. Combine that with a Colts team that is starting to show life with all the young talent hey have and you have to like Indy in this one.

Pick: a no-brainer...Colts, -4.
