The first full Saturday of action in the NBA included the Nets and the defending champion Heat.

The Nets were led by Brook Lopez's 27 points. The defending champion Miami Heat survived a showdown with the Denver Nuggets, as Ray Allen nailed a corner three with time winding down to give the Heat a three-point victory. The Spurs continued their hot start to the season, topping the Utah Jazz, 110-100. And the New Orleans Hornets grabbed a surprising victory over the Chicago Bulls.
