The Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl is expected to choose between the Arizona State Sun Devils and Arizona Wildcats to represent the Pac-12 Conference against the Navy Midshipmen on Dec. 29 in San Francisco, according to Doug Haller of AZCentral.com.
Which of the two teams the bowl selects could depend on how this weekend's games unfold. The Boise State Broncos, who defeated Arizona State in last year's Las Vegas Bowl, are likely to end up in Sin City again this year. However, they have a slim chance at qualifying for a BCS bowl with a victory over the Nevada Wolf Pack on Saturday. If that happens, the Las Vegas Bowl could choose Arizona State, as a rematch would not be in the cards.
Arizona is in play due to its identical 7-5 record, which is also shared by the Washington Huskies and USC Trojans. Las Vegas prefers the Huskies, while the Trojans are expected to play in the Sun Bowl.
A decision on who will get the invite to the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl will be made on Sunday. Regardless of what happens, the Sun Devils have already stated that they likely won't accept an invitation to the New Mexico Bowl, as its Dec. 15 game conflicts with Arizona State University's finals schedule.
