Kevin Kolb wants to play well upon return

Kevin Kolb continues to recover from a rib injury, but said he wants to be able to play at a "high level" when he does return.

Kevin Kolb missed Arizona's last five games and while he's returned to practice on a limited basis, there are still plenty of questions to be answered before he returns as the starting quarterback.

Kolb said certain movements still bother him to a level which would impact his play on the field. Even still, he said playing through the pain isn't the issue. Instead, being able to play and take a hit without re-injuring the rib is the biggest issue.

Kolb said he's trying to work his way back to a level where his velocity and accuracy are back. When he does return, he said he wants to go out and be able to play at a high level and not be limited by the injury. While the Cardinals aren't sure when Kolb will be fully cleared to return, he is getting closer. Instead of being out for weeks, Kolb is now being evaluated on a day-to-day basis.

With Kolb out again this week, Ryan Lindley will make his second career start.
