Since sprinting out of the gates to a 4-0 start, the Arizona Cardinals have lost six straight games and now sit at 4-6 heading into this week's matchup with the St. Louis Rams.
ESPN's Mike Sando took a look at which NFC stock was rising and falling, and his entire "falling" list was occupied by Cardinals.
John Skelton, Adrian Wilson and even head coach Ken Whisenhunt's names may not surprise you, but wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald's name also appeared on Sando's list.
Fitzgerald was the choice because he failed the Cardinals when they needed him Sunday, an extremely rare occurrence that nonetheless cost Arizona. Fitzgerald failed to finish a catch on fourth-and-2 during the Cardinals' last-ditch drive against the Falcons. He also walked off the field while the Falcons were returning a fumble for a touchdown. Fitzgerald called that play "idiotic" and he was right. Even the great ones have bad days.
Sando did note, however, that the Cardinals on the falling list could change their trajectory with a win over the Rams this week.
