Marcin Gortat has been putting up plenty of points and pulling down tons of rebounds for the Phoenix Suns so far this season. He's averaging nearly a double-double per game with 11 points and 9.8 rebounds.
But Gortat played just 23 minutes in a loss to the Miami Heat on Saturday and the guys at Bright Side of the Sun say Gortat had been kicking the tires off the coaching staff for more touches already this season.
Things are about to get more interesting in Phoenix after Gortat lashed out at head coach Alvin Gentry in an interview with the Polish website Przeglad Sportowy.
Unfortunately, I don't think I'm even an option for Gentry. He doesn't even take me into consideration. The situation is critical. We're playing the same thing we've been playing last year, but the truth is we have a completely different set of players. I don't think it really works.
Gortat reportedly refused a contract extension from the Suns and the Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls are interested in his services.
The Suns are sitting at 4-5 on the season and have lost four of their last five games. They take on the Portland Trail Blazers in Phoenix on Wednesday.
