The FCS announced the 20 teams who will be competing in their college football tournament this season which begins on Nov. 24. Ten teams were automatic bids while the other 10 were selected by a selection committee.
Northern Arizona did not make the cut.
As the names were done being called and the Lumberjacks were not among them, they could only look back at their most recent loss as the primary culprit for popping their tournament candidacy bubble.
On Nov. 17, the Lumberjacks fell to the Cal Poly Mustangs. It gave Cal Poly a better overall and conference record in the Big Sky. Cal Poly is now in the tournament and will face Sam Houston St. on Dec. 1. That would have been the Lumberjacks in that spot. But it wasn't meant to be.
The top four seeds in the tournament are North Dakota St., Eastern Washington, Montana St. and Old Dominion.
