At 8-1 on the season, the Atlanta Falcons are one of the most dominant teams in the NFL. Part of the reason for their success is one of the league's best receiving duos in Roddy White and Julio Jones. Teams can have fits trying to cover both receivers and because the Arizona Cardinals are a heavy blitzing team, the Falcons are expecting a lot of man coverage.
The Cardinals bring the blitz on about 40 percent of their defensive snaps because they can depend on their excellent cornerbacks in man coverage. Both Patrick Peterson and William Gay have played excellently with Peterson only allowing one touchdown pass all season. So White knows he could have some opportunities to get free and make some plays but it will be hard against two of the league's better defensive backs, via AtlantaFalcons.com:
"We’ve got to go out there and beat press man. They just line up, press and blitz everybody and hope they get to the quarterback and get turnovers."
A win over the Falcons would go a long way to helping the Cardinals' playoff hopes. They currently sit just a game and a half back of their division rival the Seattle Seahawks for the sixth playoff spot in the NFC.
