Arizona vs. Stanford: Wildcat fans disappointed after third straight defeat

Despite a two touchdown lead in the fourth quarter, the Arizona Wildcats fell to the Stanford Cardinal on Saturday by a final score of 54-48. The Wildcats have dropped three straight games, all of which have come against ranked opponents.

Both teams finished with the same number of total yards--617--although Arizona had 131 more passing yards than their opponents. Kevin Zimmerman at Arizona Desert Swarm attempted to diagnose the loss:

So what was this game?

Simply, Stanford showed that despite any inefficiencies in an offense that had a quarterback controversy coming into it, it still has that winning spirit that the Wildcats haven't found.

And despite Stanford's struggles to stop Arizona's offense, the Wildcats ultimately undid their solid first three quarters of play.

The Wildcats will have a bye week to regroup before heading back to the field on Oct. 20 against the Washington Huskies. They will look to put an end to their losing streak and pick up their first Pac-12 victory of the season.
