Arizona and Stanford went into the half with the Cardinal holding a 14-13 lead. Following a wild third quarter, Stanford holds a 34-33 lead. For a game that looked like it might be a defensive battle at the start, the offenses have broken the game wide open.
Both teams scored three touchdowns in the quarter, alternating scores throughout. Ka'Deem Carey scored the first touchdown of the quarter on a one-yard TD rush up the middle. Josh Nunes then ran up the middle on a QB draw play to give the Cardinal a 21-20 lead. Matt Scott then connected with Austin Hill on a 14-yard strike to put UA ahead.
The two schools both took turns scoring, and then Stanford tailback Kelsey Young broke free for a 55-yard touchdown run at the end of the quarter to give his team a 34-33 lead. Both teams attempted two-point conversions on their last touchdown drive and failed.
