NFL week 8, picks against the spread, Sunday late games: Giants make sense to bet on

While there are only three late games on Sunday, we still give our picks against the spread.

Nick Laham

What is up with the lack of late games on Sundays lately? Can the NFL not distribute them a bit more fairly so that I have more to write about during the plethora of byes? It would only seem fair.

Anyhow, here are you picks against the spread for the late games on Sunday for week 8 in the NFL. As always, the lines come to you from Bovada.

Oakland Raiders +1 vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Brady Quinn era has begun. Will it end the same way it did in both Cleveland and Denver, full of unfulfilled promises and misery? The Chiefs certainly hope not. Even if it does, they can always rely on their star running back Jamaal Charles to put in his fair share. Expect the Chiefs to find an extra bit of inspiration this week coming off their bye. Take them minus the single point.

New York Giants -2 vs. Dallas Cowboys

It is time for payback for the New York Giants. The Cowboys pulled out the first game of the season with a victory, but this time, Eli Manning is in midseason form, Victor Cruz is burning trails on the field and the Cowboys will be playing without one of their best players in Sean Lee. The Giants may be on the road, but the Cowboys' home field advantage is not even that great. Take the Giants in this one.

New Orleans Saints vs. Denver Broncos - no line

There isn't a line set for this game, but with Peyton Manning on a serious roll, I would bet on the Broncos. If it is anything under 3 points, take the Broncos to put an end to the Saints' mini-streak.

Enjoy the games!
