If you're interested in lacing up some cleats and throwing on a football helmet, the Arizona Rattlers will be holding open tryouts for the 2013 season. The tryout will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Gene Autry Sports Complex in Mesa.
Be prepared to throw down some cash though, since the tryout will set you back $80. Make sure you bring cash or a money order, as the team won't accept checks or debit/credit cards. You also need to show up in whatever gear you intend on trying out in, as the locker room will not be available to use. But leave the pads at home -- the tryout will be completely non-contact. Just bring cleats, shorts and any accessories you may need.
General Manager and head coach Kevin Guy will be running the tryout and testing participants on the 40-yard dash, short shuttles and position drills.
The Arizona Rattlers won ArenaBowl XXV last year, beating the Philadelphia Soul, 72-54.
