The Phoenix Suns have announced their training camp roster for the 2012-2013 NBA season.
The Suns added five players to the team's 18-man training camp roster on Monday. The Suns signed forward Ike Diogu, guard Diante Garrett, guard Othyus Jeffers, forward/center Solomon Jones and forward/center Luke Zeller.
Diogu, a former Arizona State Sun Devil and 2005 Pac-10 Player of the Year, is a six-year NBA veteran who was originally drafted by the Golden State Warriors. Diogu has played for the Warriors, Pacers, Trail Blazers, Kings, Clippers and Spurs during his NBA career. Diogu split last season between the Spurs, China's Xinjiang Gyang Hui Flying Tigers and Puerto Rico's Capitanes de Arecibo. Diogu also represented Nigeria at the 2012 London Olympics.
Garrett was on the Suns' 2012 Las Vegas Summer League squad. He averaged 4.6 points and 2.6 assists in five games with one start.
Jeffers is a two-year NBA veteran who missed last season with a torn ACL. Jeffers played for the Jazz, Spurs and Wizards before joining the Suns.
Jones is a five-year NBA veteran who played for the Hawks, Pacers, Clippers and Hornets before being signed by the Suns.
Zeller is the brother of 2012 Cleveland Cavaliers draft pick Tyler Zeller and Indiana University's Cody Zeller. Luke Zeller played on the Spurs 2012 Las Vegas Summer League team and was on the Spurs' preseason roster in 2011. Zeller spent time playing overseas in Japan and Lithuania before playing in the NBA Development League for the past two seasons.
