The schedule is tilted heavily in favor of the morning games this Sunday, as there are only three late games, including the Sunday night one, being played. Still, I will give you my picks against the spread. As always, the lines come from Bovada.
New York Jets +11 vs. New England Patriots
With the way the Jets were blown out at home vs. the San Francisco 49ers, this line makes absolute sense. Still, this is a division game, Mark Sanchez does not have to worry about the pressures of performing in front of his home crowd and the Jets have done better as of late. If Shonn Greene can keep things moving the way he did one week ago, they could keep this game relatively close. I would take the Jets and the points on this one.
Jacksonville Jaguars +4 1/2 vs. Oakland Raiders
For me, this is a rather easy pick. The Raiders are coming off a last minute loss to the undefeated Falcons -- and they were on the road. When Denarius Moore is on fire the way he was last week, that opens the run game up for the always deadly Darren McFadden. At home, I don't think this game is really even that close. Stop Maurice Jones-Drew and you will do okay. Take the Raiders minus the points.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals- no line
Even though there is no line for this game, I will still give you my prediction. I think the Steelers win this game, despite being on the road. Rashard Mendenhall should be able to play and the team knows the Bengals well, meaning they will devote extra help to cover the likes of A.J. Green. If the line is set anywhere near 3 points in favor of Pittsburgh, I would jump on it.
Until next week!
