Arizona State Sun Devils sophomore quarterback Taylor Kelly was among 10 players added to the Manning Award Watch List on Wednesday. Kelly has started the season on a roll, leading the Sun Devils to three easy wins to start their conference schedule. He has completed 68 percent of his passes for 1,600 yards, 14 touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He has also been a threat on the ground, gaining 210 yards on 57 carries.
Kelly leads the Pac-12 is passing efficiency rating, and is second nationally. He has been impressive all year, especially considering he had not made an FBS start in his career before 2012.
Ten finalists for the award will be announced on Nov. 28. The Manning Award has been given out each year since 2004, and is given to the top quarterback in college football.
The Sun Devils and Kelly will have a chance to make a statement on Thursday when they host the No. 2 Oregon Ducks in Sun Devil Stadium.
