Despite a close first half, Arizona State pulled away from Colorado in the game's final 30 minutes Thursday night en route to a dominant, 51-17 victory on the road.
The Sun Devils didn't allow the Buffaloes to score a single point in the second half while scoring 31 of their own. The adjustments Arizona State made in the second half were the story of the game, according to Nick Marek of SB Nation's Arizona State blog, House of Sparky.
"Take a deep breath. ASU survived the 20-17 halftime scare ... We can all agree the first half was not the prettiest performance by the Sun Devils on the road, but they made adjustments and put the game in the game squarely in the win column by the end."
With the win, Arizona State improved to 5-1 (3-0 Pac 12), while Colorado fell to 1-5 (1-2). The Sun Devils come home this week for another Thursday-night matchup against No. 2 Oregon.
