2012 NFL picks against the spread, Week 6: Steelers to topple Titans

Tennessee has suffered several blowout losses. This week can they cover as six-point underdogs at home on national television?

Week 6 in the NFL begins in Nashville as the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Tennessee Titans as the featured game on Thursday Night Football. Pittsburgh enters the game as a six-point road favorite. So which team will cover their spread?

Pittsburgh has their defense on the mend, but will be without linebacker Lamar Woodley. But beside that, you have to look at the losses that the Titans have suffered this season. Their four losses have come by 21, 18, 24 and 23 points. They have one win over the Detroit Lions. And...starting QB Jake Locker is still out, so Matt Hasselbeck will get the start.

The moral of the story? Considering the manner in which the Titans have been losing this season, you have to do the easy thing and figure that if they are to lose, it will be by a large margin. The only way they cover is by winning straight up. Do you think that will happen against the Steelers, even at home? I don't.

Pick: Steelers, -6.
