Fantasy Football: Start Julio Jones, Roddy White, Sit Reggie Wayne

A look at Week Six of the NFL season with a fantasy football twist.

Rehash

A mixed bag in last week's predictions. For my three up Arian Foster had the monster game that was expected, while Ryan Williams and Domenik Hixon both struggled. My three down was pretty good. Only useful Jets offensive player was Jeremy Kerley, Maurice Jones-Drew and Ben Roethlisberger both didn't account for a touchdown and had low yardage totals.

Three Up

Atlanta Falcons Wide Receivers Julio Jones and Roddy White

Neither of Atlanta's stud wide receivers have scored a touchdown and posted 100 yards receiving in the same week. Going up against the Oakland Raiders they should both go off. The Raiders allow the fifth most passing yards per game in the league and have allowed 722 yards through the air in their last two games. Starting corners Ron Bartell and Shawntae Spencer are still out leaving safety Michael Huff still starting at CB.

Philadelphia Eagles Running Back LeSean McCoy

Shady has been good this year, but not great. He only has two total touchdowns and has only ran for 100 yards in two out of five games. McCoy registered 53 yards on the ground last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Detroit is middle of the pack against the run based on a total yards allowed per game and yards per carry. This should be a high scoring, fast paced game and I think LeSean gets into the end zone multiple times.

Minnesota Vikings Wide Receiver Percy Harvin

Harvin has scored three touchdowns in the past two weeks, one rushing, one receiving and one kick return. He is arguably the most versatile skill position player in the NFL. Last week the Redskins were picked apart underneath by Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez. Harvin isn't a tight end, but the Vikings like to do use him underneath. According to Pro Football Focus 30 of his 38 receptions have been thrown nine yards or less in the air. Another big, big week is in store for Harvin.

Three Down

New England Patriots Running Back Stevan Ridley

Ridley has lost a fumble in each of the last two weeks. Head coach Bill Belichick doesn't tolerate turning the ball over and just a complete gut feeling I think he gives the second year back one more chance before benching him. I could see Belichick game planning to attack the Seattle Seahawks with the short passing game instead of running the ball as much as they have the past two weeks. Seattle is allowing only 3.2 yards per rush. The Seahawks also rank highly on pass defense giving up just 6 yards per attempt, but if you remember the Monday night game against the Packers Aaron Rodgers had lots of success in the second half with the short passing game.

Indianapolis Colts Wide Receiver Reggie Wayne

Coming off a monster 200 plus receiving game against the Packers, Wayne now has to deal with Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie. Cro is playing the best football during his time with New York and possibly his entire career. Pro Football Focus had the Florida State product not allowing Andre Johnson to catch a pass on four targets on MNF. I imagine Wayne will get many more targets than that, but I don't think he cracks the century mark.

New York Giants Running Back Ahmad Bradshaw

Like Wayne, Bradshaw is also coming off his best performance of the season. The Giants' RB ran for 200 yards and a touchdown against the Browns. Before that game Bradshaw ran for 78 yards against the Cowboys and 19 verses the Eagles in the only other two games he was fully healthy. San Francisco allows 3.7 yards per rush, 81 yards per game and has only given up one rushing TD.
