Arizona State defensive tackle Will Sutton earned Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors after having a career game versus the California Golden Bears on Saturday.
Sutton had eight tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble to spark Arizona State's 27-17 road victory over California last weekend. Through five games this season, Sutton has 35 tackles and 6.5 sacks for the 4-1 Sun Devils.
Sutton is the first Arizona State player to earn conference player of the week honors this season and the 81st in the school's history overall.
Arizona State has started 2-0 in the Pac-12 and will have a bye this week before taking on Colorado on Thursday, Oct.11. The Sun Devils are in first place in the Pac-12 South Division and join Oregon and Oregon State as the only three teams undefeated in conference play so far this season.
Arizona punter Kyle Dugandzic earned Pac-12 Special Team Player of the Week honors after punting five times for 234 yards, including a career-long 70-yard punt against Oregon State on Saturday.
