Trade Rumors 2011: Cardinals Interested In Lee Evans, According To Report

Rumor has it that the Buffalo Bills may be looking to move veteran wide receiver Lee Evans. According to Mike Jurecki of XTRA Sports 910 in Phoenix, the Arizona Cardinals are showing interest.

The Cardinals have recently lost receiver Steve Breaston to free agency, but have also signed Chansi Stuckey and re-signed Early Doucet to battle Stephen Williams and Andre Roberts for playing time opposite Larry Fitzgerald. They also signed veteran tight ends Todd Heap and Jeff King. Where Lee Evans fits into the offensive plans is unclear, but what is clear is that Arizona is interested in adding weapons for their newly acquired franchise quarterback, Kevin Kolb

Evans could be a consolation prize for the Cardinals after they lost out in the bidding for free agent receiver Braylon Edwards, who signed with the 49ers instead. Evans had 37 receptions for 537 yards last season and gave away some targets to rising star Stevie Johnson. Lee Evans eclipsed 1000 yards in both 2006 and 2008, so apparently the Cardinals believe he has something left to offer.
