The 2011 PGA Tour Championship has cut through the chaff and enters the weekend with a parred down leaderboard which happens to be led by misters Keegan Bradley (-5) and Jason Dufner (-5). Unfortunately for the TV folks at TNT and CBS who will be broadcasting the final weekend of play at this final major of the season, none of the "big names" like that Tiger fellow or our own Phil Mickelson are around the top to generate buzz.
Mickelson isn't out of it yet, however, he followed his Round 1 (+1) performance with par on Friday to sit at one-over for the tournament so far which puts him six behind the leaders and very much in striking distance if he can throw together a couple of brilliant rounds of golf.
Steve Striker who blazed a 63 (-7) on Thursday fell off the table on Friday with very disappointing four-over, 74 on Friday. He's still in the hunt as well and sits tied for seventh. If you want a name, how about Jim Furyk (remember him?) at at four-under and just behind our two leaders.
Mickelson tees off at 12:10 p.m. ET / 9:10 a.m. PT with his partner on the day, Seung-yul Noh. Here's the full tee times for the day.
TV coverage on Saturday starts with TNT at 8:00 a.m. PT and goes until 11:00 a.m. PT and then CBS picks up the afternoon from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. PT. The same schedule repeats on Sunday for the Final Round of the 2011 PGA Championship. The PGA will have the entire tournament streaming live online.
