The Seattle Mariners signed short-time D-back WIly Mo Pena to a minor-league contract Wednesday, the Mariners announced.
↵You all remember Wily Mo, who didn’t hit for an average worth speaking of but came through with some majestic home runs in his short stint with Arizona during interleague play.
↵Pena, 29, split the season between Class AAA Reno and the Diamondbacks before being designated for assignment on July 15. He is scheduled to report to the Mariners minor league complex in Peoria before joining the Mariners’ Class AAA club, the Tacoma Rainiers, in the days to come.

Pena was named PCL Player of the Week April 7-17 & May 2-8.
